It’s been a long time now.

So there’s been a pandemic.

There still is a pandemic? There still is a pandemic. I left Asheville and the physical embodiment of that community on March 22, 2020. We continued through the remaining months of the program making zoom calls, discord chats, and WhatsApp conversations to keep in contact. After the end of the year I got a temporary job in New York before I decided to move to the YAV house in New Orleans, I didn’t want to hang around for a long dark winter. I understand the snowbird lifestyle now. While in New Orleans I worked in the cutest local gift shop that was such a joy, and had amazing coworkers to boot.

Currently I’m in New York visiting family and traveling around locally just a little bit trying to be mindful of the safety of others as well as myself. I have spent a handful of days with my dad, and I am about to head north with my mom which will be fun to stay on the lake for a few days. Then it’ll be FAIR week the busiest week in my small rural town sure to be fun and crazy.

At the end of August I will be returning to Asheville for another service year! I am so very excited to see what this second service year holds and what adventures can be had.

Maybe it won’t be so long next time. See ya then.
